Making an Appointment
Shire Medical Imaging offers a range of diagnostic and interventional imaging services for patients across the Sutherland Shire. Many X-Ray and dental imaging examinations are available on a walk-in basis, while other services require an appointment.
To book an appointment, call our friendly team on (02) 9525 7770 or send through your referral and we will contact you to arrange a suitable time.
We accept all valid referral forms.
What to Bring
To help ensure your appointment runs smoothly, please bring:
- Your referral from your doctor or healthcare provider
- Your Medicare card
- Pensioner, Health Care or DVA card (if applicable)
- Any previous imaging, reports or relevant medical information
- WorkCover, insurer or claim details for workplace or compensable injuries

When You Arrive
Please arrive approximately 15 minutes before your appointment to allow time for registration and any required paperwork.
Our team will guide you through the check-in process and answer any questions you may have before your examination.
Billing & Fees
Shire Medical Imaging bulk bills most Medicare-eligible services, including examinations for pensioners, Health Care Card holders and DVA patients.
Some specialised procedures, including certain pain management treatments, biopsies, fine needle aspirations (FNA) and some ultrasound examinations, may involve an out-of-pocket cost.
If any fees apply, they will be discussed with you when booking your appointment. Payment is required on the day of service unless alternative arrangements have been made.
