3D Mammography in Miranda
3D mammography builds a detailed, layered picture of breast tissue from low-dose X-Rays. It’s central to detecting and diagnosing breast conditions early, including breast cancer, and is particularly valuable where breast tissue is dense.
Our modern equipment lets radiologists see subtle changes that a standard 2D mammogram can miss, supporting earlier, more confident diagnosis.
Preparing for your appointment:
- Avoid deodorant, perfume, powder and lotion on the day
- Wear a two-piece outfit, as you’ll undress from the waist up
- Arrive a little early for any paperwork
FAQs
What is a mammogram?
A mammogram is a specialised breast imaging examination that uses low-dose X-Rays to detect changes in breast tissue. To obtain clear, high-quality images, the breast is gently compressed for a few seconds during the scan. Although this may feel uncomfortable for a short time, the examination is quick and most women tolerate it well.
How is 3D different?
Tomosynthesis captures the breast from several angles to create a three-dimensional, layered view, improving detection, especially in dense tissue.
